My flow output PSI is set in those limits, my compressor cycles at 125 back to 155.
Also, manual says spraying tip/shield with anti spatter will increase lifespan

Let us know if spraying anti spatter on the consumables has any effect on life span.

Just an update, the 60i is perfect for remote work. This is by far the best plasma I have used to gouge and cut by hand. I had to take apart a rusted out staircase and rebuild, used a 60 amp drag for both cutting and gouging out the old welds, just changed between settings on the machine and was set up at 30 amps. I can run both my 8 gallon air compressors and the plasma with no issues on the 10k generator. The long arc is just what I was looking for, something that has always been a issue with other units.

I was looking at a Generac Generator at Costco a couple of days ago with 10k max and 8k run but it only had a 30A 220v output.

Jaws what is the amps output on your generator? Also do both of your 8 gallon compressors start at the same time or do you have them set to kick in at different PSI settings ?

I moved up to a 17KW generator because the 10/12kw's could never keep up with my plasma especially if i put the 7cfm rolair on it too, now granted I was pretty much always at 60 amps on the plasma... down near 20-30 probably would have worked for short cutting periods.

It's one reason the SL-40 torch is so nice on the 60i You can run a 2.6 CFM Roliar JC-10 compressor/ SL-40 torch with 9-0091 ,(20-35 amp nozzles) at 33 max amps output using a MQ-6000 generator, @over 4000 ft altitude.Cutting 1/2 MS. That is the most efficient setup for input to output.. I just run my 29 amp 38XL instead, because it leaves reserve, and It's the machine I generally use, since the torch is already hooked up to it.. Has a ATC for swapping back, and forth between machines though.. Plus it has a nice torch wrap on it..

The 9-0091 tips have a orifice dia. of .026 , plus the electrode/ start cartridge if all closer together for less gap to jump.. Always better on power even comparing 40 amp tips between torches.. Like a free lunch almost, since the SL-40 consumables last well at 30 amps..It starts to get over powered a bit over that by too much.. (Complaints on the cutmaster 42, and why Esab has the SL-60 option for that machine..

Now if I need more, the $455.00 60i gets call.. (SL-60/machine plugged in to the wall)

I bumped up my air a bit, put a 90° pipe fitting in place of the swivel and coated the nozzles, no error codes today.
The ceramic spray definitely makes a difference. Keeps the spatter from sticking to tips and nozzles. That's why I use it in all my MIG guns.

I bet it felt good to finally use the machine with out any error codes. I had some issues when I first started using my machine and once I figured out what was causing the problems all was good and it works like it should as far as I can tell. I still need to try a new electrode and the 20 amp tips to see if they cause the electrode to fail prematurely again or if the failure was from my using the pointed tip on my pocket knife to scrape the grooves on the electrode.

The 10 Nozzles 9-8210 from the UK ebay seller arrived this today.

    Re: Amazon Cutmaster 60i

I decided to use the SL40 torch as my back up torch on my 60i.. Along with the SL-60 torch.. I found a retro sureloc torch, that will bolt up to the 38xl.. Some of the 20 amps tips are stupid expensive, but the 38XL always ran with the 35/40 9-6500/6501 tips . Electrodes are upgraded from when my machine was built with it's standard 9-6506 style.. Too bad because those can be had cheap.. The PCH-42 torch takes the style between the one torch, and the one above.. Thermal still uses this torch on the Drag gun plus, so parts are out there. No moving parts, and shields are available to protect the cup.. Which not even the one torch has available. It's a real nice torch, and what the original old school Thermal rep always liked better then the one torch setup.. Trigger is way nicer,,and much smaller front end even over the SL-40 torch.. The CD start is better suited to non moving torch parts, although the SL-40 worked well on this machine.. I can get rid of all the adapters, and it will hook up just like the factory torch that came off of it..

I was missing the factory torch that came on the 38XL ,because I sold off my other beater 38L with the new torch that was on my mint 38xl.. I only did all this because i wanted to keep the SL-40 to have for a 60i. I was planning to get one, but not three of the things..

Found this torch for $200.00 shipped from e-bay, and it allows me to put the right torches on the machines I have.

Both of my generators have 30 and 50 amp plugs. My 10k powered by a 20hp Honda will maintain just over 55 amps based on the meter readings. The two 8 gallon compressors have the air hoses chained together and they kick in at different times right after one another on their own. They have max 125 psi and seem to work well for my plasma cutters.
