Ancient boiler in Atlanta, collectors item!

I am visiting a friend in Atlanta, who is trying to get rid of this 600 pound monster. Who would want to have this thing? I’m tempted to rent a gasax and get to it, but should I?

    STOP
It looks like a Cast Iron boiler.

    Oddly, they are collectable.

If that's the smokebox door leaning against the back and the boiler is complete it probably has value.

If it can be converted to a table with a glass top it has yuppie apartment value.

Please get better pics of both doors.

I had a hunch it might be a museum piece. Now we just need the right people to take it away…

    What's it "Boil"?

This is a Furnace, isn't it?

I got $200 for a 1949 5-section HB Smith when I scrapped it a couple of years ago (the ratings tag had both Coal & Oil statistics on it)...

Here, Wed be lucky to get $20 for its scrap value. I bet the door is with more than that in "decorative " value. Get Mike Wolfe, and Frank Fritz to come and get it.

    Lol

    If.... it's steam....
And If.... It is rated for around 100 lbs.

    Then it's worth $1000's...

    Not joking....

Steam engine collectors would be all over it...

The doors may be cast iron, but I see plenty of welded staybolts around the fire box sheets, Could be that this one may be rated for steam too.

Were they Canadian or US dollars.
Cast is worth more than short steel.

That may be more a comment on the age of the folks in grade school than a comment on the age to buy alcohol.

There’s a good chance this boiler is useful to steam hobbyists. It was running about 10 radiators in the original house.

Might be a boiler column over on Smokstak.com, Harry Matthews board.
I know there is a steam engine column.
