Found locally in an electronics scrap/junk shop.
Unknown if it works, but available for the high price of $50.00

The cables should be worth that. If you have 3 phase 220V at 38 amps Go For It. And its DC

I'd buy it just for the crank handle.

200 amp at 60%.......It's probably a better runner than most of what the suit and ties( blue/red/yellow/green...no matter) are pawning off today at mega bux.

If I can run it off the VFD I'll be getting for my Bridgeport, I'd probably get it.

That is a fine quality World War 2 vintage THREE PHASE machine that probably contributed mightily to American manufacturing in its life.

NO you can't run it off your VFD.
You also probably can't convert it to single phase by rewiring it unless you intend to heavily modify the rectifier, and even if you do, it won't have the arc quality it has on 3Ř. It damn well might outperform the little placstic box wanabe welders from China though.

Calling it a boat anchow damn well might get you inserted back into your vehicle via the window in a few shops I know.

Any consideration of buying that machine should be based largely on internal inspection for connection damage.

Call the idiots at your local power company. All most need is a transformer to add 3 phase. YOU may have to purchase it. They " may" allow a used one.
Matter of fact.... Don't call. Walk in and ask for the guy with a tie and a name tag. Be nice. If he isn't nice, whip his azz

OH. Tell name tag boy you're just a hobby guy or he may want to up you to commercial rates. One more hinderance to having a shop in The Empire Inc.The telephone thieves will also demand commercial rates if the electric mafia does. Then of course the municipality and health dept socialists will be there for handicapped parking, his and hers and maybe /not sure( Caitlyn Jenner type) full handicapped access bathrooms.
The fire inspector will also visit. His uncle owns an extinguisher/fire system company so he'll be of great help.....not to you tho.

LARGE heat producing Selenium plate stack.

Configuration depends on input AC to the stack, can be either a bridge or a 3Ř stack.
