    jet tools made an Ellis knock-off

    just saw this recently.

    love my Ellis saw. i wonder if a patent or something expired?? they also make a smaller version than the 1600

    It's been out for over two years, just not well advertised. It grosses me out honestly, and it's not even much cheaper.

    I agree that’s not cheap for a import. Why not buy the real deal for that money ?

    I wonder if it isn't just rebranded. Jet reached a lot larger market than Ellis.

    yeah it made me a little sick to my stomach at first, thinking they ripped it off.

    but, looking at the pics and such it looks the exact same. thats whats got me scratching my head. i cant find anywhere that says 'made in..' definately not cheaper as i thought it would be.

    It doesn't appear to be as heavily built as an Ellis going by the photos.

    It appears to be smaller. Blade looks smaller. Only the 10 inch capacity is the same. what is the price?

    spec say 1 inch blade? i wonder if that is the actual 1600 clone.

    Just talked to Ellis and they said it's a copy not authorized by Ellis and the Jet is made in Taiwan.

    Ellis is still made in USA.
