    240V is fine.
Hobby cutting, a little of everything, not a lot of anything. (exhaust, roll cages, brackets, seat mounts, reinforcement plates, etc).
Sporatic use. It'll sit for a month, then get used to make 50 cuts, etc.

Buying used around here (MD) is difficult at best. Craigslists prices for used show that people love their plasma cutters.

    So, I'm looking at new:
Razorweld 45, Klutch P600iHD, and AHP Alphacut.

My web search investigation is pointing to the Razorweld.

    Thoughts?
A friend of mine raves about his Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 42 Plasma Cutter w/SL60. I took a look online and it's slightly over $1k. Can operate on either 120v or 230v. Hope this helps!

I am a hobbyist with a cutting torch but I wanted a cheap plasma cutter also. I just bought a reconditioned Hobart Airforce 12ci for $529 from Hobart. It has the compressor built-in so I don't have to worry with all that. The drying filters and all that seem like they will add to the cost. I just wanted something to cut thin stuff.
