    new to forum

Found the sight while searching ,trouble shoot Lincoln AC 225 tombstone welder. I melt iron together. My father told me I was a good California welder, said everything I welded had grapes hanging off. After trial and error for 60 years I can burn a rod and melt aluminum. While welding in my shop yesterday my cracker box stop arcing. Machine fan was still going but could not strike a arc. Just though I might look for information before I start checking it out. Good to become part. Probably will receive a lot more than I answer. Richard K

Welcome! Are both legs of your 240 in "hot". My old welder quit a while back & turned out the switch was dirty & therefore was only getting 120 volts. It's the OLD Mid states welder listed in my signature.

Happy to have been helpful....for a change! LOL I should have mentioned it earlier, but a little dielectric grease on those contacts would have been a good thing, SORRY.
