Miller Phoenix 456 for sale or trade

Miller Phoenix 456 cc/cv for sale.

It's a 3 phase machine and I don't have any way of powering it. I haven't been able to test it and would prefer to sell it someone in the Fort Worth, TX area with 3 phase power or a 3 phase generator so we can be sure it works before any money is exchanged. If you're local and have 3 phase power I'm looking for somewhere to test it and would be willing to compensate you for use of your power and shop.

Based on serial number it should be from around 99
I believe it was originally purchased by Los Alamos National Labs
    230/480v 3-phase input power
5-600 amps or 10-38v output power
450 amps at 100% duty cycle
Lift arc tig, mig, pulse mig, and stick welding
Missing 2 of the side bolts and has 2 or 3 stripped holes
The inside is very clean for it's age. I haven't done anything to it except remove the power cable and occasionally dust off of the exterior

Located in Cleburne, TX. Not sure what it's worth, but asking $2500 or reasonable offer based on what I've seen from similar machines. Open to suggestions from other forum members if that's too high or low. Open to trades, I'm particularly interested in either an engine driven welder or milling machine.

It will run on single phase 240. Just connect 240V supply power to L1 and L2. Have fully tested them on same it's just maximum output is slightly limited.

If you've never seen it operate, might want to consider going thru all the pre-power checks as recommended before plugging it in and throwing the switch.

Correct on it being a '99 and it's currently set up for 460V.

4 machine screws and a harness plug relocation to switch it over to 230V so one could test it on 230/240V single phase.

Duaneb55, thank you for the tips. When I did some research before I got mixed results on whether I could run it single phase or not. I'm assuming the prepower checks are something I'd have to find a technical manual for? I didn't find much in the user manual and a few quick searches didn't turn up much either.

Re: Miller Phoenix 456 for sale or trade

    Hi Duane
This thread is a few months old but I have a Miller Phoenix 456 like the one Cyrus posted, only mine is 575v 3 phase. A friend of mine knew I was looking for a multi process welding machine and he called me from an auction where this one was up for bids. Not knowing much about the phoenix but knowing Miller makes a nice welder, I got him to buy it for me. Only later did I find out it was 575v 3ph, which is no good to me at home. I'm wondering if you think this one will also work on 240 single phase, although I see the one Cyrus has is good for 230/460 and mine only says 575 so I don't think I would have that option but just wanted to confirm. The serial number is KJ097000, stock number 903548. Thanks for any help you can provide.
ps. I'm new to the forum so I'm not even sure if I replied correctly.
