    ThermalArc welder

I am wondering what a TA 185 tig/stick welder is worth. Everything works. Also comes with a 'WeldTec' 2 gallon cooler & weldtec tig torch, and victor regulator (not gauges, pellet[?] type) - everything but a tank & hood.
    Everything works OK.
    Is $1,600 too much?

It wouldn't be worth it to me. Brand new Lincoln sw200 is about $1600.

I'm considering buying a used ThermalArc Fabricator 252i, without any extras for $1,250 but doesn't seem worth it considering the price of a new ESAB Rebel 215ic, especially since it is limited to 220v only.

The 252i is a great machine, that is a good price in decent shape. Big difference between that and a Rebel 215 if you want to spray or get into some thicker stuff, run .045, plus the 252i can take bigger spools and has a better drive system. If you are just going to stay in short arc, need multi voltage than the Rebel is a solid choice.

252i, and the TA-185 last model (3rd) Arcmaster 185 are both great machines.. I only went with a LM-200 because it will support a external LN-25 feeder. Although I do think the Sanrex has a bit nicer Arc.. Both are in the excellent range though,
