    Auto darkening helmet mod?

    Hi all!

I have a standerd "flip" welding helmet but I seen on Amazon an auto darkening lens (https://www.amazon.ca/Auto-Darkening...4&s=hi&sr=1-50) and I wondered if I can replace my lens with the one on Amazon (one that will fit my helmet lens size). Is it possible??

    THANKS!!!

Auto-Darkening helmets have come down in price it may be better to just buy a new one.
One thing to look for is number of sensors, 4 seems to be much better.

Yep , you can. I suggest testing the New auto-helmets. The headgear, sensors, and adjustments are amazing. Depending on how much you want to spend they are really something.

You should test drive them and you'll be amazed on the difference. Miller and Lincoln are my favorite, around $275.00

You can get a good auto hood for about 60 bucks.

Hi and thanks!! In US price it's cheaper but here in Canada it's about $100 so that is why I wanted an auto darkening lens just to replace mine (for now). Any way
I only do 1-2 weld per year so I don't need pro stuff.

One caveat for your situation i would highly suggest getting one with a replaceable battery, and then using quality (hold their charge longer when not in use) batteries, cheers and let us know how it turns out for you. also, Have you considered getting a higher end fixed shade lens rather than a lower end auto darkening lens? You might find the visual quality difference is worth the inconvenience of not having auto dark, especially with today's fixed lens quality and price.
