    Lincoln Sa200 won’t start

Recently got my sa200 f162 back from the shop and it’s been running and welding great. I was told everything on the machine checks out. Every part on the machine is brand new except for the mag. Never been rebuilt and doesn’t need to be. One day I’m welding with it and the next day I go to start it and it just won’t start. It’ll turn over fast and sometimes it sounds like it’s struggling to turn over and sometimes the starter won’t engage. It’s like a click. When it does turn over I see very little white smoke coming out of the exhaust. What is going on?

When I have a problem like that, I always remember the Fire triangle. Oxygen, fuel, ignition. It's the simple things that will drive you crazy.

Not helpful, but thanks. New fuel, new spark plugs and plenty of oxygen.

Have you pulled the plugs and made sure that it is not flooded with to much fuel?

Are you getting spark too the plugs? I've had the coil go bad in the mag, crusty points, bad condenser (even new ones), points were gapped wrong or closed, oil getting on points from a bad shaft seal, the stud that passes through the housing has bad insulation and grounding out the points not allowing the engine to start, hair line crack in the distributor cap.

How is the float setting on the Carb? It could be hanging the needle valve open causing it to flood. Also the float could have a crack in it, letting it fill with gas not letting it come back up to close the needle valve.

its obvious you dont have much mechanical ability to work on engines, your best bet is to have a qualified person look at it before you make it worse...some know what to do some dont, its not a bash at you but from your response it shows the lack of knowledge to work on it..
