I would say that, for me, Jody is the guy. He is a pretty good welder and also does great videos (which is not the same thing). AVE is great, but I like tinkering, I wouldn't take him as a welding reference as he does very little welding to be honest.

Turnwright Machine Works is another good channel, more focused in lathe and machinning work but also does a fair share of welding.

AvE does not consider himself a great welder. "A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't", he is wont to say.

Um, Yeah. Chucky's latest video... definitely NOT about welding!

One youtube guy I forgot to mention that i watch every new video of is " Essential Craftsman ". He's a true, humble craftsman and honest, hard worker. I'd have him on my team even at his current age over 99% of the workforce today. His stuff is mostly carpentry and construction but there is a fair amount of blacksmithing and a tiny bit of welding there. He recently gave away a 350 lb (I think) anvil, so you blacksmith guys missed out! When chucky and wranglerstar startted making videos of their personalities rather than useful info or interesting projects I lost interest, AvE is quickly going down the same route - though his personality was hilarious for the first 5 videos or so.

This is a good thread IMO. If you put a book in front of me I day dream, just never could sit down and read a book.
Show me a pic or video and I learn like crazy. Thats why I did apprenticeships for my schooling.
I love Jody and Bob and others but 6061.com is my kind of learning tool.
    Keep the suggestions coming.

You need to. Bob and his Latino buddy are as good as any of us get. Jody of course. There used to be a bandanna wearing guy with a mustache where it appeared the Russians hacked his YooToob. He was great too.Really good teacher. Well spoken guy.
