How to tell ductile from gray iron?

Can anyone here tell me how to tell the difference
between ductile and gray cast iron? Maybe by chip/
powder made by turning or drilling? My spark testing
    attempts haven’t really worked.

That’s the first I’ve seen of the XRF gun.
    I’m guessing it’s a bit pricey.
