    I am not in Chiiiiinnnnnna. I am in USA and don't give a rats *** about Chiiiiinnnaaa. I am making a suggestion to where you would put your foot/feet to control your foot pedal and not complaining.

    Simply remove the lower crossbars in one opening. That is where you would put your chair and foot pedal. Not sure what the big deal is here people. I don't give a hang how your build your welding table but I am sure it will be figured out real quick if you are tigging and fighting with the chair, crossbar and foot pedal.

    Why not make a drop on top to cover your slats and take it off when you need the slats. I have also considered slats like your design with holes. I would make it so I could sit down and weld on it too if it were mine.

    My table top is 7 feet long and 3 ft wide and weighs almost 500 lbs. and is all open in the front. Built it in 2003.
