    as that monster rod burned down i'd want a lead jock for protecting the jewels from uv radiation.

    As long as you do the ultra-cap mod on the 110V HF welder it will handle it.

    Yep, just by laying it down on the fender.

    There were a couple threads on "big welds" and "big welds 2" some years back. It was on Hobart Weldtalk. Sadly, the pics got dumped during a site malfunction (I saved a few) but the story is fascinating. Such as v-grooving a crack in a 450,000 lb block of steel and then welding with the 20mm rods at maybe 1,200 Amps and using 16,000 lbs of filler.
