Welderjones18 you need to get some one to order these for you, I got a pair and I love them for two reasons 1. there cheap 2. THEY FIT and there comfortable also a Kromer cap isn't such a bad idea either.

    Womens size gloves here ^
I might not qualify as a expert welder but I do know a few things such as welding with out gloves hurts, if you smell burning cloth check your self (your most likely smoldering), wearing a cap helps avoid premature bald spots, and last but not least wear sleeves don't be like me and end up with spatter burns on both arms.

Basic screen, does the job, actually prefer it to the auto ones!

Another basic face mask for grinding

Cheap pair of Tig Gloves, very good though, only use them when welding ali, or in a tight area where i'm likely to burn my hands on the surrounding metal.

All basic stuff but it does the job, plus work provide all of it

That's about it. Keep a heavy cotton shirt handy for goin' up, or something over my head.

Helmet crica 1994 Campbell Housfield. Usually got one of those stickin' outta my mouth when it decides to flip down.

Gave up on ear muff hearing protectors, always forget where I laid 'em down. Keep the ear plugs in all of the time. It's easier, but sometimes not too good an idea. Ran out half a cyl. of O2 once because I forgot to turn the valve off at the torch.

Don't have to worry about OSHA around here.

Re: Lets see your helmets + safety gear

I have a Miller American Eagle Performance Series that I have bought, when I first started welding. My current job gives out SpeedGlas 9000 Series, some guys get the 9000X and some the 9000V. I have burned my eyes with the SpeedGlas, but never my Miller. I have started using my own helmet at work, and leaving the SpeedGlas in my locker.

    Evening DRock,

How is that 9100 compared to the other Speedglas units? I have a 9000X, a 9002X and 3 non-electrics but I am curious about the 9100.

Friggin' HUGE window on that one.

    Thanks
    Later,
    Jason

Oooh, I'm liking that new Speedglas. It would look sharp next to the three 90002X that I have. I'd admire them right up until the wife came out and saw that I'd bought another one. Then probably not so much!

Black Wolf - The 9100 is most excellent. The headgear is incredibly comfortable and has tons of adjustment. The electronics have some new options like a grinding mode and constant dark mode too. The hood is pretty light and well balanced, overall I would say a great improvement over the existing Speedglas stuff. The 9100XX big window is nice too, built in cheater adapter too.

Here is the old Jackson I keep at home. Nothing fancy just a #10 gold a few burn marks. I am sorry but I don't see spending that much on a hood when this does just fine. Matthew
