3/32 requires more skill than 1/8.
A lot more skill.

Is the Hobart Multi process 200 an inverter machine?

He's already using 1/8 and look at the result. It's too much iron for a rookie to try to carry uphill on a flat piece of plate. I stand by my advice to get some 3/32s.

I did this with 1/8, years back, but that pipe was at least an inch thick.

The pipe on the right, a little ways down where the black fire blanket is. All the way at the top of the power plant, about 300 feet up.

3/32 takes more skill than 1/8 on flat, and vertical takes _much_ more skill than flat.

All that rust is not helping. You need to grind that down to shiny, silver metal before you start.

Rolling out 3/16" 7018 in the shop. I think we had 2 stick rod jobs in the 7 years I worked there.
