I grew up at the tail end of the Everclear craze (at least what I assume was the end. Before I was really old enough to party, Everclear seemed to be pretty common. By the time I got to highschool (mid 80's), it was harder to find. We had 1 guy that was able to get his hands on it pretty regular, and he was always invited to the bucket punch parties.

Years ago my dad had a buddy that made his own hooch. Dad kept it in the freezer, and that stuff had virtually no taste whats so ever. Just a warm feeling when you drank it. No idea what the proof was, but it was very dangerous.
