I had high hopes for the Bolton 5x6 swivel head band saw I got off of Craig's list, but it turns out that repairing it is beyond the amount of effort I want to expend. Someone McGyvered this thing and I can't get spare parts for it. My wife finally asked me to give up on it and just buy a saw. So, now I am shopping. Is there really any difference in the low end brands? I understand most of the 4x6, 5x6, 7x12 saws are all made in the same factory in China. if this is the case is there any reason to not go with the cheapest saw? Been looking at the HF and the Grizzly saws mostly.
The wife wants me to get the 7x12, because she is convinced I won't be happy with a saw that doesn't have the hydraulic downfeed control. I have been thinking of just grabbing the red HF 4x6 and calling it a day since I have a 25% off coupon.
