Do a search on the saws . There is a post where the member bought a Grizzly or Jet saw, don't remember which. Anyway the manufacturer was still using old castings. Saw was bad so he bought a ELLIS 1600.
I love my ELLIS 1600 too. Over a year old and I should have bought it 10 years ago. Choose wisely.
There is a post on the Klutch. I still have my HF 4x6 too . I bought mine many years ago for $115.00 with a 30% off coupon.

Not to hijack the thread, but what are the thoughts on stand-up type band saws, vs the chop type?

I would say the biggest difference is a basic upright saw you move the material UNLESS it is a self feeding one . A sell feeding one is big dollars.
The horizontal one material is fixed and saw down feeds. Most popular for many.
