I started making wire feeder carts/buggies in my school shop. I really wanted to get some spiral cable wrap to hold the umbilical together but am having some difficulty sourcing it through my available options.
Now to the question: will there be any adverse effects from braiding the cables together to form a single "cable" much like some rig welders twist braid their oxyfuel hoses? I'm concerned this may cause some negative inductance changes that would decrease weld quality when welding in either GMAW or FCAW processes.
The objects included in the braid would be the work lead, electrode lead, 24v signal cable and the inert gas hose.
Thanks!
