does anybody have any tips welding with 6010? I can do stright stringers, padding, but when it comes to welding 6010 vertical i cant get the hang of it, or my weld looks like crap any kinda tips will help

6010 - dc rod only. Welding vertical with these rods requires a "whipping motion" to achieve a decent weld. 6010's are not a "drag" rod as some like to refer to 6013 and Lo-Hi rods. There are a variety of motions you can learn when whipping, go to the Lincoln Welding web site, Hobart, or, other sites to learn how to do this. Good luck.
