Not sure if it is possible....... I would like to use my friends HF spool gun, but not sure on how to make it work with my Miller Shop Master power unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

NT

If post the Wiring-Diagram i can help.
Most spool guns work on 24 volts .
But I need to look at schematic.

Trying to use the Vulcan or titanium model?
Just a quick look of harbor freights web site, the titanium appears to be set up for harbor freight machines only. The Vulcan looks like it might work on small Lincolns and Miller's if it comes with two different power pins.
To use the Vulcan on the SHOPMASTER you will need to modify the feeder.
You will need use of the wire drive motor pcb. You add a switch between the feeder drive motor and will need to add two sockets to the feeder trigger plug for the motor.
Switch sends motor power there. You also will need a Miller power pin so it can pick up gas and weld power from the feeder. You can call Harbor Freight tech support and ask them if they have a way to connect the spoolgun to the feeder you have with the shopmaster. Go to harbor freight.com and look up the spool gun at the bottom of the page is the phone number.

Yes it can be done.
I do not data to tell where the wires go.
The photo is from Harbor Frieght it shows a little data https://www.harborfreight.com/omnipro-220-industrial-multiprocess-welder-with-120240-volt-input-63621.html

The schematic for the OmniPro™ 220 iIndustrial multi process Welder but doesn't tell you anything of use for it or for the Harbor freight spool gun especially. No pin outs for anything that I can see. ???

sorry for the delayed response.

I am still checking to see if this will work. Called HF, & emailed no help yet. even tried Miller, nothing.

Thanks, NT

Yes, I know this is an Old thread, but I wanted to give an update on using the Vulcan 160 spoolgun on a Miller 140 which has the small 4 pin plug. It was made to use a Miller spoolgun with it. The Miller 140 was wired to have a switch installed so that you could change between the onboard wire feeder and the feed motor that is in the spoolgun. The 4 pin plug has all 4 pins populated so that 2 of them are for the trigger and the other 2 are power to run the wire feed in the spoolgun. What I found was that the power for the spoolgun needed to be reversed because the Vulcan 160 would pull the wire back to the spool instead of pushing it out of the gun. Once the polarity of the red and blue wire in the Vulcan spool gun was swapped it now works like it was designed to with the Miller 140. I hope this helps someone else trying to use the Harbor Freight spoolguns.
