I can't comment on the other processes because I've never tried them. Haven't felt the need to. I'm just do projects around the house and I find stick is so simple. All I do is turn the machine on and pick a rod. I like not having to bother with gas. On a good weld, the slag comes off in one piece. Are there some things I can't do with stick? Yep. Are they things I want to do? Nope. Maybe one day I'll want to do more complicated things, but for now stick is fine (and cheap).
