if you could be a bit more specific you might be able to narrow the test down better. aws standards for mig is just not enough info. this could be stainless, aluminun, steel, sheet, structural etc. if youre not sure maybe some info on what type of product and metal this company deals in. the list goes on and on if you dont have that info.
 
ive seen several weaves pass destructive and nondestructive tests. in fact i used a weave on a cert test years ago that was 1 1/4" wide with a 7018. a bit wide if you ask me but thats what the procedure called for. what it really comes down to is the skill of the person squirting that weld in the joint. i am going to take a picture on monday of this test plate we got from a guy who welds BRIDGES for a living. i have never seen a weld quite like this ever. it is so ugly it could be a modern art masterpiece! it was welded with a weave bead technique. im a firm believer that if you cant weave, run stringers!
