I apologize for taking this situation out of context. I am sure you did not mean to offend. I guess it just struck me as offputting to this lady.
I do tell everyone I have welding conversations with and a lot of younger people about the wealth of knowledge and wisdom available on here.
If anyone asks me about welding or "how do I do this", I first tell them I am no kind of authority at all on anything, then I tell them to come by the shop and try their hand. I try to get them under the hood and I watch and try to give a few pointers. If they have any skill at all they very quickly eclipse me and anything I can do.
Best regards Bistineau and glp7397

I did not mean to take tese posts out of context. I am sure it was not your intention to be out of line. It is great that you helped this lady sort this out and gained a new member for this forum.
Myself I try to mention this forum to anyone I have welding conversations with as well as young people who ask me "how do I do this?
A lot of times it is easier for me to have them come by the shop and try their hand. I get them under the hood and I watch and try to give a few pointers.
Usually if they have even minimal skill or aptitude they very quickly eclipse anything I can do.
Best regards bistineau and good luck with that new welder glp7397
