I'm also seriously considering the 215. I am new to TIG, and need both MIG/TIG. Will I be disappointed in lift arc vs. having a dedicated TIG machine with HF start? How is the Miller TIG kit vs. putting together my own TIG kit? Can I get a good torch, pedal, and dual flowmeter for about the same price or better than the $375 for the Miller TIG kit?
I'm on the fence of buying the 211 and a dedicated TIG, or go with the 215.

Hotstart, for the reasons you mentioned, I went with the MM215. I have been wanting the MM200 for quite a while, and was also disappointed when the price went up after the rebate came out. Ordered the MM215 on Monday from Baker's (repeat customer), got it Friday. Only got a few minutes to play with it yesterday. Spooled up with .023 wire and ran some test beads on 18g. The autoset makes a huge bead. I ended up turning off the autoset. Turned up the volts, and down the wire speed. Finished up a door patch. Very happy. Clean weld with no pinholes or spatter, unlike the red welder I have been borrowing for a few years.

I didn't get the tig package. Going with a CK-9 superflex, SSC pedal, and dual flowmeter. It should meet my needs for TIG. I use my dad's Lincoln Precision tig 220 if I need to do anything that exceeds the limit of the MM215.

I just received the Tig stuff from HTP. I didn't want to give miller $400 for the Tig kit.
I bought a 17 flex / 12.5 super flex / ssc pedal and a flow meter from them for just over $300 and wound up with way better than miller sells as a Tig kit.
My thoughts exactly, after I looked into sourcing the TIG kit myself. I splurged on a Harris 355 flowmeter ($86), smith 6' hose ($17), and bought a dinse 35 flow through adapter ($20). Got a chinese gas lens kit from eBay ($13). Have to wait until next month for a little hobby cash to buy the torch ($75), pedal ($155) and argon. I'll be about $365 into my tig kit.

Let us know how well the TIG works when you get a chance to use it.

At $13, it was a risk I was willing to take. :) I have seen others here link to this seller on eBay, so hopefully it is legit. They also sell on amazon. Keep in mind, it is for a #9.

It looks like their #17 gas lens kit is $25

As for the free cover, I never saw any deals for that. I bought from Baker's and got a free 10 pack of .024 tips.
