Yeah, I do. My friend has one of the last ranger 250's made. It has chopper just like the 305. Just not quite as much output and didn't have digital meters. The 250GXT uses simpler technology and is a little cheaper to make. The GXT weighs more, though. Doesn't have output to run a feeder, just a VS of course. Not near as much control in the arc as the chopper.
 
The GXT is really about the same as the bobcat 250. Just rear engine. A lot easier to work on and more standard, off the shelf parts. Neither the bobcat or the GXT has a dig setting. You can try dropping down into the lower welding range and running the dial near max for more dig. The chopper has high switching speed and a real smooth arc. The GXT is a real solid machine, though. The engines on the different machines are the same.
