Noob to this site. Been hobby welding with my Miller MIG for 30+ years.
I have tried various methods for maintaining the 90-deg angle of a "T" joint with mild steel, say 1/8-inch thick.
My best results have been obtained when I was able to rigidly clamp the pieces at 90 degrees, then:
Tack one side, allow to cool, reverse the clamping, tack the other side.
Repeat at least once prior to final welding.
Obviously quite time consuming.
I now need to perform a similar weld, but rigid clamping is not possible because the "top" of the "T" is part of a car.
Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
