Yeah,

This may be that proverbial Black Swan event that was unanticipated in the welder marketplace.

This is undoubtedly the most full-featured 200 amp AC/DC TIG unit under $1000, or even $5000 from other brands, e.g., includes both wave forms and amplitude control, and is digital.

Anyway, now that Amazon sell it directly, maybe someone here on the Forum will be confident enough to buy it and demo it for us all, and also enjoy it well enough to keep it. It seems unclear from the listing what period of a money back guarantee Amazon is offering though.

Otherwise, there was a guy on eBay that was selling these for $1399, with almost no guarantee except many back within 14 days, if I recall correctly. And it appeared from the seller feedback that not one of the units was sold under those conditions, understandably.

But, now, at just over $900, directly from Amazon, even with only a 30-90 day money back guarantee, or whatever it is, this could prove to be an absolutely brilliant unit and value in the welder marketplace.

Of course, as I mention in the other Topwell thread, no foot pedal is included, which is not much of a problem, since the digital units seem to be more forgiving if an amptrol device has a differing pot value, e.g., I happily use a 25K pot amptrol device on my Everlast 210EXT, which ideally calls for a 47-50K device.

If you really want to know if a review is valid or not, look at all the reviews for that specific person. In addition to looking at verified purchases. If you see the person has reviewed a bunch of other welders from the same brand in a short amount of time, it's pretty obvious a fake

Without making a purchase through Amazon you could repeat reviews without being verified.
You can still leave a review if you purchased elsewhere or didn't even make a purchase but it will not be verified.
Most or all feedbacks I see are verified Amazon purchases.

From Amazon, About Amazon Verified Purchase Reviews

An "Amazon Verified Purchase" may appear next to a product review.

When an Amazon Verified Purchase badge appears next to a review, it means we have verified that the person writing the review purchased the product at Amazon and didn't receive the product at a deep discount.

Now lets get back to the original topic, Topwell Tig welders. Unless someone can add some actual facts about these we may as well close this thread and when a proper review can be made, start a new thread. We do not need to hear about the cheap quality of components, the cheap assembly labor, the lack of support and warranty. No one here has even the slightest clue about the quality, performance and the after purchase support. Most of all this is not about red, blue, green, yellow, purple or pink. If your proud of what you own start your own thread and tell us all about it.. I will say Topwell has a very nice lineup of welding equipment all with some great features. I have a tig on the way and maybe one of their migs will end up here also. I'm done------carry on

I would say if all you want to hear is praise about this company or there welders, you may want to start your own sterile private forum.

Other than that welcome to WW which is a public forum with people that depend on there machines to make a living. :)

Well,

I'm guessing that you, Azsprint6, will be the first one here on the forum to give the first significant exposure of this Topwell ALUTIG, to the North American welder market.

And I hope that Kevin Caron might be willing to assist you in doing so, by uploading some brief video demonstration of you guys with the unit.

Whee, wouldn't that be nice!

And,

Gee, before this thread becomes obsolete by the undoubted incoming firsthand Topwell unit feedback, I'll use this post as a teaching moment about what a "shill" really is, as I lived the greater part of my life in central Las Vegas area, and learned at a very early age, since I was a full-time employee/busboy as a teenager at Steve Wynn's very first property in the mid-1970s, when I was also enrolled as an extortion-funded Public School student, and also a waiter at a major Strip resort at the age of 17, after Communized School graduation.

Anyway, since it's so easy to falsely accuse someone to be a "shill", I'll tell you how in Vegas that it is common, or at least it was, to hire attractive women to be seen at the BlackJack tables in Vegas. And that did have a tendency to cause people, men mostly, to gravitate to the tables when things were otherwise, slow.

So, most people are probably unfamiliar with what a "shill" really is.

They're just people who are compensated and seen to be engaging in a behavior at a resort or seen to be using a product. And, of course, that doesn't make them bad people. But, "shills" can be covert (like in Vegas with the behavior of gambling), or overt (like with actual products in use by seemingly skilled personnel).

Somewhere in this thread, someone accused me of being a "shill", even though I've never even laid so-called eyes on a Topwell unit, physically speaking, so, of course, I couldn't also be compensated for being seen as using the product. And, besides, I'm just a novice with AC TIG welding of aluminum, so a manufacturer would do better to get a well-known TIG welder as a "shill".

So, let me give a good example of what a "shill" looks like, not that that's a bad thing, especially when it's not covert, and is actually quite overt (unlike Vegas), because the producer wants you to readily identify their product and brand being used.

Enjoy!

C. Livingstone, you should get a life or at least go weld something.

BTW, I think buying two harber fart tig welders with pedals and torches is a better deal than the topwell. Harber fart offers a warranty and they are in every major city.

Also, the harber fart TIG's can be ganged to get twice the amps. Also, cheaper than topwel.

Only $429

Eff topwell, Im going to harber fart.

Nonsense, Insanerider,

I mean, sure, if a Harbor Freight DC TIG is your cup of tea, so to speak, enjoy it!

But, I'll continue to enjoy welding on my AC/DC Everlast 210 EXT.

You do know that the Harbor Freight units are DC and won't do aluminum effectively, right?

So, there's no serious comparison between the Harbor Freight and the Topwell units.

But thanks for taking time out of your day and sharing the idea that a Harbor Freight DC TIG unit may be the lowest priced new TIG unit available, and could have an appeal to some.

Gang 'em up, dude!

You are not wrong in that observation.

You know what, this is ridiculous. You guys just keep kicking the same mongrel dog. We have repeatedly asked the discussion to stay on track, yet now the topic of racism gets thrown into the mix????

If someone actually ends up with one of these, and can post up firsthand information, we will try it again.

Until then, this ones done.
