You did really good. I'm going to copy and post this someplace where I can see it. I need that kind of steely resolve and self control. I think the frugging guy must be an idiot but I would never say that in my own post of course.

Took me about 10 seconds to visualize the 2 pole 5 wire dryer. My mother had one.

I was thinking about hair dryers. You know, one of those old timey ones with the poles and the "Lost in Space" costume head pieces? "Warning, Warning Will Robinson". Those might have had at least five wires....or more even.
