    Re: Econotig Value

You can buy the parts you mentioned for 260.00. If you invest and the machine does not work, we will buy the package from you or just purchase the machine from you as is now. weldersales

I agree Jay. The real question then is what can I do to get some money from this machine I do have to put to a knew machine?

Your better off saving your money and putting it towards a new machine or a good used one. The accessories alone are going to cost you $400 to $500 atleast and add what ever else you would need. In reading post in the past boards are going to cost $600 give or take and on top of that it is still a shot in the dark.

    Econotig Value

I was recently given a 230V econotig that doesn't work. I looked into repairing it for myself to start welding with but it is missing parts. By the time I put just the parts into it that are obviously missing and buy the other components necessary to run it (foot pedal, torch, gas regulator) it looks like I will have put into it about what these things sell for used ($700-$800). Since I know this originally came from a weld shop that went out of business and had several other Econotigs, my biggest concern is that even if I was currently ready to invest that much money for a welder, there is a good chance that there is a problem with the board and it still may not work. I assume that in its current state the machine is worth something even if it is just a few dollars. Anyone have an idea how to get the most out of this as is? Some options I was considering are finding someone willing to buy it as is (but who?), finding cheap used parts somewhere to try and get this working (but where?), selling the good parts individually, sell it as scrap. Please let me know what I should do.
