Haven't heard anything bad about this Lincoln Pro 180. Been watching the classifieds here, this one I got was on there, still new in the box. I was seeing them used for around a $100 less. I opted for new. Duty cycle is always a concern ,but depending on the type of welding , for me it is not.
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I bought the 155 from this company and have been happy with it. I googled for problems on this machine and didn't find anything. Not as good as a Miller or Lincoln, but it's inexpensive. Many reviews on Youtube. https://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthrea...W-from-Weldpro If you want to go name brand cheap you need patience. I bought a Miller XMT350 from a pawn shop for $500, a Lincoln 175 Mig for $160 from a private party and a DialARC 250 AF for $180 at an auction. There are still deals to be had, if you can wait. Check the app Letgo, or letgo.com. They show a Miller XMT350 in the Denver area right now for $750. May be sold, but it was there. Good luck, Steve
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? If you want new I suggest using keepa.com app to track on Amazon. Select the model you want and the price you want to pay and it sends alerts if that price is achieved. I tracked a welder for a while and it went on sale at crazy low price. It’s free so worth a try. Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? Sounds like it will be a great welder. Decided on the ironman230 mainly due to the fact it didn’t have any expensive motherboards and was rated as more than capable for my requirements. I’ve been welding with it all summer and couldn’t be happier with this welder, I read Dans reviews and totally agree with his reviews, I didn’t find the taps to be a hindrance at all! Thanks again Dan for you honest reviews

BTW,I purchased this welder new from Lowes. It was just under the $400 mark.A new 220 welder is going to cost more than the 120 simply for the functions that it has.As someone mentioned that the welder from Harbor Freight is getting many good reviews. If you have a Home Depot near you look at the Fortney MIG welders.I started my journey into the welding field with a Longevity 100 and still have it in my garage. It still works great and is a flux-core only but it was a start in my welding career. I wish you luck in your search.Ken
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I trust Hobart welder. I had very good luck with Hobart welders. You get a lot of machine for the dollar with the hobarts.

Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? i had an ltec dual voltage mig130 and ran the heck out of it. i used it strictly for .035 innershield on 110v for cell block repairs inaccessible to my heavy idealarc. it came set up for solid wire and now goes for around $200. or so used.
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I always wanted a Linde/Ltec/ESAB Migmaster 250 or a MultiMaster 260. Came close to getting an Ltec Multimaster with a gas tank for $500 when the price was reduced from $800. Have seen a pristine ESAB for maybe a grand awhile back. But my $750. Lincoln SP-175+ works fine. (So do my Lincoln Idealarc 250 and Miller Dialarc 250 AC/DC stick welders at $300-$350.)
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I bought a brand new one in a box that never opened, the Lincoln 180 for less than $ 800.

Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? Hobart 210 MVP if I was in the market.
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I found the Harbor freight 170 MIG welder is great welder. The cost is under $190.00 https://www.harborfreight.com/170-am...der-68885.html I have own larger welders Miller and Hobart great welders but the cost and size is big. Today I need a lot cost smaller welder, found the Harbor freight 170 and does good weld. Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? You can get into a Hobart Handler 190 for somewhere in the 7's. It's been good to me, and I'd recommend it to anybody who doesn't need a MIG to do heavier plate.
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? Originally Posted by RoyClark Thanks for the suggestion you made. I also found a review where they recommend LOTOS MIG175. How is it? Just from that post, I can tell that you should keep whatever cash you have in your pocket and double it. You will get 4x the quality machine for double the price. It really does get a lot better once you cross the $1,000 threshold.
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I have used this Machine for a few years now, and would recommend it. It has a 60% duty cycle at 180, which is something to consider, if you envision making welds more than a foot long. https://www.longevity-inc.com/migweld-200s
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? Shop around. I bought a brand new in the box, never been opened, Lincoln 180 for less than $500 at a local pawn shop. I figured someone had probably bought it five years ago, had it sitting in their garage all that time, and finally decided to pawn it. When I opened it up, and pulled out the warranty card, I found to my surprise that the date of manufacture was only about eight months before I bought it!
Re: Suggestions for an affordable MIG? I would not take any review from that site as credible as they receive revenue from sales. I have an older Millermatic 130 and it still chugs along fine but is 110 only so not in your range.
