I like to add a 6 or 8 foot whip at the stinger to keep weight down, it allows you to add more lead too if the need arises.

That makes more sense. Other than a whip lead I've always been around 0 or 00 cable.

I was told that #1 awg was fine for 300 or 310 ( max on dial arc ) for a total of 50’ leads.
The connectors that have #1 as a minimum size only go up to 250 amps.
I like to have the ability to max out my amps at 310 if needed, therefore I will need the connectors good for 350.
There are no connectors I see that are good to 300 amps.
    Thanks
I didn't know they were rated that low. I've seen and used lc-40 connectors at around 400 amps with no issues.

    I put a pair of 50' #2 leads (100' total) on my Idealarc 250 with no issues (though I don't go over 1/8" 7018)
So from the chart above I could have gone to 150' with 60% duty cycle @200A and still use #2
I bought Southwire Royal Excelene brand from a major wire and cable supplier via their ebay site.
    Really nice flexible stuff.

I shop at weldingsupply.com, because they are the best price and a local store to me. If you're stuck on Tweco brand, let me know and I will try to provide numbers. I'm just more familiar with Lenco because I buy/own a lot of it

You can get Chicom knockoff DINSE connectors pretty cheaply on ebay, FWIW. I bought some and they seem to work fine.

There are some that are better than others. The quality of the jacket matters and the higher strand count the better...both lead to more flexible cables. I stay away from the imported cables....tends to be lower quality, and more importantly....it often stinks! Quality cable made in the U.S. can be quite flexible and actually smells nice.

I've bought from this company many times...they're local to me, but sell on eBay and I think Amazon.

This is for their red #1 cable, but they offer it in black and probably have a set with 20ft of black and 20ft or red if you look through their listings.

When I called my LWS, they said #1, and both leads should be the same , as in #1 leads.

Number 1 is perfect for that machine. It probably has something like #4 on it from the factory.

I run 2 gauge on my syncrowave (which also goes up to 310 amps) and with short leads I have never had a problem.

I suspect your welder would hit its duty cycle long before 20' of AWG #1 welding leads would.

You will use a 1/0 cable seven times, then toss it in the corner because it is too heavy.

Why? 1/0 is good for up to 60% duty cycle at 350A as long as the leads are combined 50ft or less.....way more than what you're talking about. #1 is good for 60% at 300A so there is really no way you'd have an issue at 200A or lower. #1 is probably close to 100% at 200A with 50ft or less combined leads...and nobody can stick weld 100%.
