Re: Voltage Changeover on Hobart TR 300 To be a AC welder it needs single phase. But back 1960's a lot of shops had 480 volts only. I had T300 on 480volts work great for hard facing. Re: Voltage Changeover on Hobart TR 300 According to this name plate they are Single Phase BUT can be 230v/460/575v https://weldtalk.hobartwelders.com/f...-hobart-tr-300 Hobart might be able to provide a manual if you contact them. It's too old for it to be in the On Line manuals though.
Re: Voltage Changeover on Hobart TR 300 I'm not sure. I thought it was 3 phase. However I've read that it is single phase. I think it can be either.
Re: Voltage Changeover on Hobart TR 300 Lemme look,,, what phase is this machine. Hobart has a good website and forum too.

So when it says change positions of lead No. 3 and white lead, I've got no clue what there talking about. So if anyone can help in this mater, it would be much appreciated. I realize this is quite an old post. However, it you or someone who can help would help , I'd be very grateful. I have not been able to find a manual for my TR-300 . All I need at the moment is the voltage change diagram. I'm sure you got yours taken care of. But if not , I can help you with the wire numbers. My wires are labeled. I really could use the complete manual for future issues. Or at least a circuit diagram.
