    To be a AC welder it needs single phase.
    But back 1960's a lot of shops had 480 volts only.
    I had T300 on 480volts work great for hard facing.

    According to this name plate they are Single Phase BUT can be 230v/460/575v

    Hobart might be able to provide a manual if you contact them. It's too old for it to be in the On Line manuals though.

    I'm not sure. I thought it was 3 phase. However I've read that it is single phase. I think it can be either.

    I realize this is quite an old post. However, it you or someone who can help would help , I'd be very grateful. I have not been able to find a manual for my TR-300 . All I need at the moment is the voltage change diagram. I'm sure you got yours taken care of. But if not , I can help you with the wire numbers. My wires are labeled. I really could use the complete manual for future issues. Or at least a circuit diagram.

So I contacted Hobart and they were able to find one and send it out.
