I am in the UK, not the US. We have 240v single phase, and 415v 3 phase, only.

Drill a pattern of 5/8" holes and you'll be fine. You can always add more as needed. [emoji1]

And what you state is true. Having 3ph 380/400 gives you access to used industrial machines that are cheap in the secondary market (basically because almost none wants them as they cannot run them).

To the OP... GREAT TABLE! Are you planning on drilling it in a pattern to use clamps? I don't think you will be tacking stuff to that pristine surface... how do you plan on clamping things in the middle of the table?

You are absolutely correct about the 3 phase and used machinery. Yes I have 3 phase power in my shop behind my house.

I really should put my esab back to use. I blew all the capacitors in it and had to replace them all.

As for my table and clamps. I’m going to work out a good but not excessive pattern for mounting clamps. I don’t need hundreds of holes but some strategically placed will be good.

That’s what’s so handy about my Syncrowave. You just tap the transformer for what voltage you run which in my shop is 400v.

Also you guys have access to a used machine market so large that I can only dream of having access to. I have to import a lot of stuff.

Got to keep the farm equipment going. I have never had anything to do with farming but it’s definitely something I admire.

The most important factor for me is that everything looks professional. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to set yourself up in a professional looking manner as long as everything is clean and tidy. I definitely need to do a big tidy up next.

I always look at it from the point of view of what standard of quality and professionalism is important to the type of customers you want to attract. Sim for that.

I hardly use the esab. I use my Syncrowave 99% of the time. In fact that table was welded with my Syncrowave.

I have always liked the grey colour you see in photos of old machine shops where many of the machines were grey. I like things to be the colour they would have been factory so I thought the grey a good choice if the table had been something you could buy at some point back in the day.

I think TSC in Canada got mostly sold out to Peavy Mart. I'm not sure if they carry any paints... haven't noticed it in the flyers.

Does Tractor Supply have stores in Canadia? (Canadia )

    https://www.majicpaints.com/farm/tti/

They sell Majic paint at Tractor Supply. Good paint.

Dupli-Color Engine Enamel is probably the best spray paint I've used. It's fairly cheap, drys FAST (couple minutes), and its good for 500 Degrees Freedom (260C)
