Anything is possible. The question is, is it economically practical?

    No way in hell.

He knows what their worth & prolly doesn't have very much in any of the non running ones, or even the running ones for that matter. It sounds kinda crappy, but if you're in the resale biz & you can't get non running machines cheap & sell them at a good profit, you're not gonna make any money.

I sell refurbished Maxtrons with a warranty for around $1800 & up. On average, I pay maybe $200 at the very most for a dead machine. I like to pay less, being if the board is toast, it's the most expensive part to find for one. The rest of the parts are pretty available & cheap if you know where to look for them.

I decline to sell anything unless its refurbished with a warranty. The parts are more valuable to me to build working machines out of than what little ill get selling one to a guy for cheap as a non working machine.
Very true Steve, that's how business works. Me personally I would call the guy and tell him i'll be there tomorrow with a grand in my pocket. Can you have a redface running for me. If so sold. I like to make money as well as spend it, and so does everybody else. So you can keep looting around looking to get that killer deal from a old persons family member that past away, or do what you gotta do and be done. What's your time worth!

Ok. I was gonna offer 300 and see what he says. I thought 3 was low even for a non running sa200

Re: What should I look for in a SA 200

$500, and not welding or running he knows it. He's probably got those machines all five minutes away from welding and running anyway. Tell him that you will wait and watch and if he gets one up and going for you you'll give him a thousand.

Just a little TLC! The Red Face didn't weld, but took me about 15-minutes to get it to weld.
