    My Miller Multimatic 255 has settings for 24 gauge, 20 gauge, 18 gauge, 14 gauge, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2

Its up to you to dial in the right settings for "in between" metal thicknesses. I am not surprised that the Omnipro is the same way.

I can turn my 180 up more , squeeze a couple more A out of it but the arc turns to crap. On the top end no matter what that chart says, there aint no mo.

You need 3 settings. Thin, medium and thick and mark your chart. That little machine could be on thick or where its wide open a good share of the time. There aint any good way to describe in a chart what the welder learns from experience and training. Just cause its set to weld thicker doesnt mean a guy cant weld thinner faster so a 030 compact I am wide open much past 16 ga and for sure at 10 unless we got a big ole hairy crack in it. I tend to find myself turning it down a little more than I used to on thinner and am going to get a 140 onme of these days for small wire.

Does any ones welder skip some metal thicknesses when setting up for mig? Mine skips over 5/16 and some thinner gauges. Happens on all wire size settings.
