    Re: New Cyclone 140E MIG

The external polarity pigtail and the display of voltage/wire were the features I felt were missing in the old 140. The addition of automatic settings is just icing on the cake!

A lot of people do. As well as the duty cycle difference.

Thanks Lugweld. I missed the lack of stick capability on the new machine - that's important to me.

    Re: New Cyclone 140E MIG

Technically, it isn't "Power Cyclone" It is simply cyclone. I saw that on the Canadian site. Someone entering it on the site goofed. On the US site, it will be listed as Cyclone 200E when it drops here. The Canadians received an early small shipment so they could get the product listed.

The Power i MIG 200 is a full 200Amp machine with 35% duty cycle at max. The Cyclone 200E is 180A @ 25% duty cycle. The 200 has stick weld function, burn back, and adjustable inductance/arc force control. It also has higher wire feed speed at 600IPM, rather than 480 of the 200E. Its a heavier duty machine all the way around.

What significant differences are there between the new PowerCyclone 200E and the older Power I-Mig 200? I see there are minor differences in the amp requirements, output, pre/post flow, etc. This is for a home hobby shop, steel only. The price on the newer unit is very enticing.

    New Cyclone 140E MIG

Hear that? Sounds like a freight train is about to hit the MIG welder market.

In case you didn't hear, Everlast is dropping a new line of MIG welders on the market. We are in early rollout with the all new Cyclone 140E (E is for Economy). This is a MIG only, basic MIG with powerset mode and digital display. This is the first of the new generation of welders to come later this year.

This is more than a rebadging of the old i MIG line. Rather it is a full upgrade.
The E in the name still stands for economy as larger Cyclone models will have more advanced features and adjustment capability.

Key specs of the new Cyclone 140E:

    120V input
    IGBT Inverter design
    25-140A
    25% Duty cycle at 140A (compare to others at 20% @ 90A)
    60% Duty Cycle at 90A
    Lightweight, around 30 lbs.
    4" and 8" spool size
(approx. 2 to 12 lbs capacity)
LCD color display, Bright, clear, easy to read at a distance
Power Set mode. select gas type/ wire diameter (for steel), and the unit will automatically select a setting and allow you to fine tune it.
    200 A 15 series MIG gun.
    Cast Aluminum feeder (not plastic)
.023" and .030" Steel V groove drive rolls standard, options available.
Sturdier case over the older i-mig design.
    5 Year warranty
