    4 - 400 Amp machines hooked in series gets you 400 Amps. 4 - 400 Amp Machines in parallel gets you 1600A.

    I wish I had kept one of the same size rods we used to repair the forging dies at Kaiser Aluminum . We had 4, 400 amp machines hooked up in series to give 1200 total. Operator wore a molders reflective suit and operated a pantograph that had a 6 foot reach. It was very impressive. Jim

    It is! They made a pretty cool gift for two really good friends (Welding Engineer and a fellow Inspector) as well.

    It also comes in handy with the majority of the famous welders that have "Seen it All".

    I have one in my office. There used to be someone selling them on Ebay. $22 for the rod and $25 for shipping.

    I don't see them there anymore though.
