Not my scoot so I'm not putting any more effort into it.

But there are two dents in the rear rim.

Probably from hopping curbs and beating on it.

Nice going Ed. That looks like a lot of tedious work.

Why can't people just leave other people's property alone. SORRY SOB's!

    Re: Spray paint removal ?

Luckily no scraping needed. Just a bag of rags and worked in small sections and the spray paint came off relatively easy.

Just monotonous but made easier knowing that it was helping my friend get out of a slump.

He was in Chicago burying his mom when the bike was stolen so he was knocked back a little. After I did the front fender he could see that it wasn't going to be all that bad and he was motivated to get at it.

Glad to see your progress and the apparently undamaged factory paint; the finish looks great. What did you use to scrape away the softened rattle can paint? I have used the edge of a plastic credit card and finish with 100% cotton rag with good results. I notice you're using the same heavy nitrile gloves that I have. Kudos on all of it.

    +1
Lacquer thinner IMO is stronger than acetone and it is what I think you should try. Lots of paper towels and start wiping it away.

Oh shoot. I was a little late eh ?

Car makers went to other types of paints to retain the gloss because people don't like to wax etc to keep a car looking good. As they say different strokes for different folks.
No biggy. I get my undies in a bunch when I hear "farmer" stories. Sometimes I overreact.

    Re: Spray paint removal ?

I know a couple people who's cars got tagged and the paint shop was able to remove it all, don't know how but I always figured they buffed it off. Maybe they used gasoline like John T says
