These blades being dry cut, they rotate much faster than true cold-cut blades which go rreeaaallll sssllloooowwwww. Those cold cut blades usually always need coolant and turn only a couple hundred RPM, where as carbide dry cut blades are around 1300 RPMs; too fast to not sling around all that coolant/oil. Just use stick kut wax stick lubricant.

Not me, it cuts well dry and the blades last fairly long for a casual retired guy. Plus the sharpening place is down the road from me. But mail in works fine to.

The prices for their services are very reasonable. $25 minimum per order now, so unless it has less than 82 tips to sharpen, it should cross the threshold on even 1 blade.

Good Info. A buddy of mine is a Rep for Evolution so I have several of their saws. A regular chop saw and a slide saw. He gets tired of me mooching blades off him so I'll send in a few to Quinn and have them re-worked.

I don't think the kerf width is affected as the carbide tips are the same width. As to the number of quality cuts, I wouldn't be able to answer that without sufficient data. At first glance I don't see how the number of quality cuts could be affected, unless the carbide grain was not uniform to begin with.

Got the blades back from W.D. Quinn. As before, excellent work.

Two teeth that were replaced on the 72-tooth Tomax blade

Nice job on the Evo multi-material blade

Three sharpenings, three teeth replacement, one was 'hammered and tensioned'. $65 + ~$25 shipping.

Sending in more blades to get fixed sharpened.

Accidentally dropped and chipped a couple teeth on the Tomax and the Evo multi-material blade that I already had sharpened (it is relegated only for chopping up oak firewood). The other Evo blade was just a spare so it's just getting sharpened.

Blade looks good, geezer! Was that evolution blade 66 or 72 tooth? Looks like a 72.

I myself just picked two new blades.

Diablo 90-tooth TCG-tips 14" blade off Amazon for about $90. Works real nice. This will be my go-to blade as I don't use thicker than ¼" steel very often (if I do, I use the plasma cutter).

The other one I just got is a Tomax 72-tooth 14" blade, also off Amazon, for $61 shipped (it had a $3 coupon ). Figured what the heck, should be ok for a hobbyist. Indeed it is pretty good, runs smooth and true, has a TCG on the teeth just like the diablo. I don't expect for it to last super duper long as the carbide teeth likely aren't commercial grade, but for hobbyist type stuff, it should serve well as a back-up blade to my Diablo 90-tooth (for when I get them re-sharpened), which I plan to order a couple more of.

I've cut 1/8" thick flat bar (standing up vertically of course) with both and I'm please with how they run. I've been making sure to use wax lubricant whenever I do cuts, so hopefully that habit that I'm forcing unto myself will let these blades last even longer. I just bought some Stick Kut wax lubricant since I'm almost out of the tiny Blair rotabroach stick lube, so here's to hopefully lots of smooth cuts.

Its on the saw, but I will take a pic tomorrow and post. To my mind, the saw cuts better than new. They had it pack in a box with some sort of blue elastic protector on the tips. I am sure thankful you posted about W.D.Quinn, and who would have thought they would be on the way to my Dr appointment. Thanks

I've found that any shop that can sharpen carbide blades for wood does just fine on my evolution blades.

Basically any tool used in hardwoods will work fine with aluminum. The only thing you have to consider is that the aluminum will clog your tools if you cut it dry, so you are better off using some cutting oil. That, and the chips!

I cut a fair amount of aluminum plate (5mm thick) to make underride protection plates for VW T4 vans and I have been doing it for ages with the same wood blade in the same circular saw. I just squirt some WD40 along the cut line and it works great. Clean cuts everytime.

Personally I wouldn't worry about cutting aluminum, if anything the aluminum blade might keep residue off the blade, but you can clean it if you need to.

I've seen people using the stock blade to cut all types of steel, including stainless, steel and aluminum. That is true for the Fein Slugger blade also.

Been a few days, but thought I would update here. I didn't realize they had a separate website other than Amazon, most of my searches on google took me to Amazon, but I did finally see they have a separate website. I sent an email to them and Haley got back to me, they do plan to get stock in soon and will have them on their website before Amazon.

I'm told they should start getting the S380CPS saws in next week. I'm poised and ready to pull the trigger.

Really, I wonder why they put that right up near the top of the page, " Have a question? Find answers in product info, Q&As, reviews", so I had a question and asked.

I don't see their number easily, I just went looking again. Where do they post it?
