The advantage of the 6" is that you can let it hang out of the vise jaws on one side and it will remain stable, this way there is more clearance so your work can be completely alongside the vise and have room to bend larger pieces. I could never have made those brackets inside of the vise jaws, not enough room.

For double the cost of the Grizzly, this one looks more capable, and does not need a vise (or a VICE!!)



The video on Amazon shows it bending some stout bars,, and it only costs $150,,,

and,, for half the cost of a Grizzly, there is an Eastwood 4" version, that looks identical to the Grizzly,,,



I can not imagine doing much more than 4" wide material,, Hmmmmmmm,,

It look great a few parts
I would build a hydraulic press for faster and heavier metal.

Might pay to build one now, when I bought it they were around $45 now they are double that.

Hmmmm, I'm thinkin' I could make one of those vice brakes. Looks like it might be handy...or pretty, whatever.

Grizzly 6" Vise Brake

I needed 16 deck post ties, Home Depot wanted $4.50 each and didn't have any, local construction supply wanted $3.00 each, didn't have any. So I grabbed this piece of galvanized sheet metal scrap and a Grizzly vise brake and made them, it's a pretty handy tool for small bracketry.
