Re: I was finally able to lay down a stack of dimes! Not hardly, more like trying to weld clay. Better put it where you want it, because wherever you put it, that's where it's gonna stay. All the high nickel alloys are like that.
Re: I was finally able to lay down a stack of dimes! Forget dimes, I want to see a stack of silver dollars! Teacher in school did a lot of specialty Tig and said Monel was tricky to weld because it had the consistency of butter when it was hot.

Yeah it's about 10 years old, get s a *lot* of heavy miles The balls go get greased but I think that is just part of the issue as there is always dirt/sand/concrete on everything and it just sticks to the grease... and lets face it nobody wants to clean a dirty ball off just before hitching up
