Not sure, but yes at one time it was a malibu frame, Google it. It is only fully boxed from the front frame rails to just behind the cab..

My problem with the 4.3L Vortec is the power to fuel mileage ratio :/

um... which generation frame are you speaking of? the first two generations where not car frames, they were fully boxed. Very popular to put a big v8 in them and drag them. can't speak for the 3rd gen.

Too much to post, but fully caged, custom J-arm kit (built by me) and fully tubed chassis (after cab ) Built by me again..

That’s crazy what you did to that S10. I had two, a 1996 GMC extreme, and a 2002 GMC ZR2 (same thing as the S10) so yes, I can say they were good motors.

Nice. I had an F150 as a chase truck, but upgraded to a F250 V10. More power and such. A little background on my truck..2000 S10. Fully caged from the front bumper all the way to the spare tires in the back. All tied in, cab cage 360 welds, welded to the cab as it goes to the frame perches. I fabbed up a Custom "J" arm kit that pulls 15" travel while retaining the coil bucket. 3.5" over on both sides. As for the back, I cut the frame off right after the cab it is tubed chassis with bed cage. Deaver 67 pack in the back pulls 20" of travel. The engine cage, Cab cage and bed cage is all 4130. Within the next year or so I will cut up the front, eliminate the coil bucket, build a 5" over kit with Coil Overs and By-passes.

I like that there’s some off-road enthusiast on here. Some one need to start a dedicated off-road thread on here. I have my f150 lifted with a camburg 2.5 lift kit, Fox shocks all around with a new upper a arm to take the stress off the ball joints. Rides like a dream.

They mount to the stock location. Theses are for S10's. I fab them for Rangers and older big size chevy silvys.

is there an exo cage to mount those on? or are you ripping the sheet metal off when they catch something?
