Friend of mine had a six leaker... finally got rid of it as there was just too much oil getting into the coolant even with changing the recovery tank every couple thousand miles

Oh!! a 6.0L that changes things those torqshifts are a lot tougher than the E4Od's and a bit tougher than their replacements the 4R100's... but typical ford... when they 'fix' one problem they introduce a few more... just kidding well not entirely

You would think ford would have done that too... cause when their autos go poof... they go all the way!!!(at least most of the ones I had experience with anyways)

A lot of things are different between the gas/diesel versions... the biggest being the torque converter

Well most will get sucked through yes but some of that will stick to the wall of the intake. And there’s almost none

And I don’t run k and n on a dirtbike. I run twin air usually, just saying you will see it in a dirtbike if your sucking Dust and dirt through it will be on the intake.

I'm not sure why you post on this forum since every time someone has a different opinion or experience you brush it off or figure your way is better. On bikes especially I have talked to several riders who have had problems with K&N filters. If it's on pavement in a race environment with very little dust a K&N is good because it flows more air. In dusty conditions not so much. I'll use a factory filter or a known good filter like a Twin Air and the proper air filter oil. Lots of discussion good and bad about K&N filters and also read where K&N won't warranty engine problems caused because of their filters. I don't know what your pics. are showing actually. If any dust got through it's not going magically make it through the filter and end up on the intake tube, especially with a high compression diesel sucking the air in. I'd look at a more scientific test than just seeing if the intake tube is clean.

Re: Going to check out this powerstroke today. What do you think?

I use the same technique on my dirtbike. You will see specs in the intake boot if it’s not filtering correct or not enough oil on the filter. I’m using that technique on this truck also. Should have seen the inside of the boot when I first got the truck. It looked like the outside of the intake tube. Cleaned it up to be able to see any “new” specs and there’s not

Lot of hear say out there. Only way to know is test yourself!

Re: Going to check out this powerstroke today. What do you think?

Proof is in the pudding there in front of you. Must be delusional to argue with the pics showing evidence it filters good. Dust will get stuff on the wall if there’s some in there. That inake boot is squeaky clean lol

Have also heard of K&N filters having better flow because they don't filter as well.

Happens a lot with autos. Even after rebuilding them my friend would have them come back about 10% or more of the time. He’s been doing it about 25 years or more probably. Did u get stuck paying for the install twice now?

Good deal hopefully that was your problem. I'm still waiting on my truck to get a transmission. Ordered one off fleabay end of October, mechanic got it installed last week and guess what. Trans I got sent was bad. So it shipped back Friday.
