I will give you one heads up though. I was told by the store where I bought mine that the local Lincoln repair depot had seen a couple of them in with the main knob broken off. That kind of damage is not covered by warranty and the repair is almost $1000(I'm in Canada) because the knob is mounted directly on the main circuit board. The repair depot doesn't do component level repair on this and the circuit board is listed at $946 when I looked. I'm not concerned about the screen, it has a replaceable clear cover and the new Miller Multimatic also has a similar screen. I don't think the MM 211 does.
Would I recommend it? Yes, if it fits what you need to do. Understand it is not a football. Don't drop it off your truck or throw things at it. Personally I believe this applies to any tool you pay that kind of money for.
I built a cart for mine to specifically reduce the chance of accidental damage to mostly the front of the machine but still leave it accessible. Maybe I'll get around to posting a few pics in the cart thread. I think it has a few useful ideas.
Ed(Broccoli 1) has likely done more wire fed work than me so I'd give his recommendation more weight than mine if that will be your main use.
Cool... Yea that would suck if that knob breaks... Thats kinda pushing me to the miller

I never liked the older MM211. Folks do like them but maybe I was spoiled or just used to using the Passport Plus before getting a MM211. The Passport was one of the first inverters in a small package offered
    by Miller.

We went with red just to try it out their vision of an inverter based machine. I'm a big fan of them.

I suspect that most people who have found the "wire drive issue", found it because they saw a video not because their machine was being peculiar.

What makes you so sure? It's a MAIL in rebate. They just happen to sell the machine below MSRP.

I have a lincoln 3200 HD mig that have like 10 or 12 years and it is still working. And most recently my SW200. I use to work with Miller synchrowaves and the like but that was more than 15 years ago. Right now I dont need a high amperage mig so I havent tried the 210 ,but have not heard anything bad about them. Lincoln warranty and quality should tell you something. At the end, Miller or Lincoln ,you will be ok. Chose the price and color that fits you and you will be happy. I was going to tell you to check the new Esab Rebel , but is a little bit more. They also have a smaller priced model. The lincoln is a multiprocess and you can mig,tig and stick. I think the miller is just mig and flux core. You might need some of these processes on the future and then wonder why you have to pay for another machine because yours dont have it.

Definitely a good unit. I don't consider it a user friendly unit for a novice. The unit is better suited for an intermediate to advanced operator who has a good understand of how to read the weld puddle and how the three different controls work together.

How are the quality on inverters? also the miller is only 60$ more so price is basically the same. the lincoln seems like it would fail easier because ther is more features including the digital screen

    Re: hobart 210 mvp hmm?

The Lincoln 210MP is a winner and at the price currently $999.00 it's a good deal.

I have no doubt the Miller 211i is a good machine as well but they're a wee bit more right now.

I really like my Passport Plus, which is an inverter also.
