I have two sons. One has been with me whenever the sky is bright since birth. The other is blessed. He could fall in a septic tank come up with a massive diamond!

Both accuse me of being blind. I see very well without a helmet. I spend a lot of energy figuring out how to fix my vision when welding. I've spent an embarrassing amount on helmets. Currently, I have the most expensive Miller helmet I could find 2 years ago. I have a GLASS cheater lens in it. I also use reader glasses to fix "old man eyes".

Until my toughest critics criticize, I feel I do very well.

Seth has put in his time. He has suffered under my tutelage extensively. He has ignored most of what I taught, positively doesn't understand that MIG is different from stick, doesn't care. Low hydrogen, he believes I got from a Tremors movie. Still, he produces welds prettier than mine.

Little brother, (blessed since birth) has spent 41.03 minutes in his life with an arc in his lens, produces prettier welds than either of us.

I can't point to a weld any of us has made that has failed.
An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
