    Re: Hypertherm Manufacturer Section

    Thanks Moonrise,

A standard Powermax30 has just 1 nozzle, one electrode....the enhanced kit has:

    1 LUBT:SILCN 1/4-OZ TUBE

    3 196935 O-RING:VITON .625 X .070

    1 ELCTD HLDR:T30V

    3 ELCTD:T30V

    1 SWL RNG:T30V

    3 NOZ:*T30V

    1 CAP:*T30V NOZ RET

So...basically extra parts to keep you cutting longer!

    HI, Jim
could you tell me what the difference between the factory recon units and brand new units are. I know that the recon units only come with a 1 year warranty over the factory 3 year warranty. do they last just as long or do they seem to be prone to more problems

    Thanks

    Re: Hypertherm Manufacturer Section

Hypertherm on very rare occasions offers our distributors access to what we call "warehouse 9" inventory....these would be systems that were returned for restocking....or systems that had some sort of failure in the very early stages of use. Each of these systems goes through the same final test process as a new system...and is placed in our "warehouse 9" inventory. We offer them to our distributors at a discount...and with a limited warranty (The warranty depends on what the system is...and it is not the same as a new system warranty). I would venture a guess that these systems are probably just as good as a new one, with the exception of a few scratches. It is very rare that a distributor will have one of these systems available...as it is very rare that we offer them! When they do become available...they usually are sold within minutes.

    Re: Hypertherm Manufacturer Section

Ya they do go fast...!!! air gas didn't have any more available from their open box sale 879.20 ...64.00 shipping and they ran the ad for a week that's bs... ran out like there was even that many to be had WTF!

and they advertise ( in inventory) items and (shipped from manufacture) the pmx 30 was supposed to be a.. manufacture shipped.. item.

and between their computer and bank roll I wonder how many were over sold and avaliable anyway i'm pissed!!! as I really wanted that unit...

offered the 380 nope may get the thermal dynamics 38 720.00 and shipping!!! maybe probably out of stock too. "as buying something is probably the fastest way to process my money back .

Should just keep my money rather than give it to them for not being in real time with inventory....and screwing me.

my computer knows everything thats in there strange theirs cant all communicate properly to even ...like maybe NOT Take my money till the shipping tag was on it usually you charge when you produce product this practice has to stop!!!!!

may just give the local Air gas guy the money here in Mcalester powermax 30 for 1015.00 out the door!!!

can get tax exemption here just no case or anything but that is a good deal I should of just got it without the goodies and risk of the open box or gorillas getting hold of it .

now Monday I'll have to do something.

Probably wait a week to ten days for my money what BS!!!

They always say deal local well there you go .. to good to be true

wonder if anyone has got one of these from them hmmm

Sorry to hear about your problem trying to get a PowerMax 30. Have you tried http://www.weldersource.com they have the PowerMax 30 Deluxe for $995.00 with free shipping and no tax. Plus if you tell them you are a veteran they give you a discount. They have great service and support and the shipping is Fast~

I did check Airgas catalog but they are almmost $200 more.

    Hope that helps,

    Re: Hypertherm Manufacturer Section

when you check the deluxe box it adds 144.00 makes it 1139.00 local guy has a good price compared to air gas online 1015.00 no shipping like air gas online.and tax exempt.

I may just get the TD 39..... 2nd best "( as I only have the 1019.00 air gas took. or credit it to my account and go to the local store and just go pick it up without the case and goodies.

so the local guy is making 20.00 over the best online prices so that's probably what I'll do I won't have to wait another week for a unit unless they give me refund delays.

    Re: Hypertherm Manufacturer Section

I looked at welder source this morning and it said $995 for that powermax 30. guess I'll have to look again

Wow!! Just looked and yep $995. for the extra $144 looks like you get a cover and carrying strap. Right now I keep mine covered with a pice of welding blanket. And that strap well mine is still in the package. I don't have need to carry my Powermax 45 anywhere.

Nice thing about this forum is you can get advise on what to buy and if it leads to problems back at the ranch you can get family counseling here too.

jim, we are using an air gouge and it does fine, but we are always looking at other options.

I kept my TIG hidden in the garage for 12 months before i dare bring it out full time. When i get my PowerMax45 on Thursday, i will hide that for some time too.
Just so the wife doesnt walk in with a coffee for me and say "whats that. it looks new. i havent seen that before. HOW MUCH DID IT COST??"

I do a bunch of frame gouging. Hopefully I can get this camera fixed soon. I get alot of good results with the PowerMax gouging .

I always keep a tensioning pry bar behind the piece I am gouging off that way it comes off cleaner.

    Powermax45 gouging

Here are a couple of pics of gouging...using the special gouging nozzle and shield with the Powermax45. I honestly had never tried gouging with this particular plasma...because past history tells me that you need over 100 Amps to do any serious gouging. I'm impressed.....this little unit will easily gouge out a 3/8 wide weld in one or two quick passes! These pictures are of a single pass just using air at 45 Amps....with a compound angle on the torch. There was a bunch of slag on top of the plate but it knocked off easily....and the travel speed was 10 inches per minute. As you can see...the gouge is about .400" wide and about .140" deep.

I'll know tomorrow "I had to get on air gas a lil bit there gonna try to get their hands on one.

looking at maybe the THERMAL D 81 for an alternative being I couldn't order the 38 (they had a hold on the funds) and now it,s gone. may get a better deal than advertised on that 81.
