Some more Coffee tables in Gold this time

    2 more for the shop
The table with 2 sheets is my design, the one with 3 sheets is a copy from a pic in a magazine.

    Hey Brett,
Great looking tables, but you must not have small kids.
All I can think about is the sharp corners with kids running around, how many fingerprints there are going to be on there, and the glass sliding off the half-round tables.

I guess I've been a dad and granddad so long I can't really appreciate design and good welding without thinking about the kids.

    Thanks for posting, good job.

I doubt the environment these tables go into have any kids to be worried about.

Brett, Those are beautify designed tables, but I am wondering what is holding that bottom glass? Is it just being held by the corners? I don't see a frame under it. I would assume it is tempered glass, but that is a pretty good size piece. Just curious.

    Thanks trapperjohn,
That sheet I wanted to look like it was floating . So before powdercoating I tapped four M8 threads into 4 of the raking legs , screwed in some bolts so just the smooth shank was showing then cut off the heads (they were M8 Stainless Allen key Button heads) so only 10mm left , filed smooth .
Then after painting slipped a clear hose over the bolt stems and cut the glass in to suit.
The hardest part of that is getting 4 pins in a perfect plane so the glass doent rock.
That table has 10mm Clear toughened glass with a 25mm splayed bevel polish , the corners are not sharp.

Its not really my taste either wb4rt,
Its function is mainly a "shop prop" , and to allow customers to build on a theme with our leather and timber products in custom design.
Interior Designers who have seen it love it ... meh I dont get it .
Sometimes your opinion of a piece can be influenced by your personal experiance welding it up.
That one was harder than it first looked to weld up square and true.
(more than a little bit of putting legs in vices, slipping pipe over the other legs and pushing and pulling into shape lol )

Lol you think bullet proof Plexiglas is grand kid proof? mine is the original WoMD
But on a more serious note whilst the table with the semi circles is not really kiddy freindly and is more "Show" than "Go", I've been doing glass tops on tables etc for over 30 years without a drama.

Classy looking tables! The gold stained metal legs and frame make it pleasing combined with glass gave them a very nice minimalist look. Great metal and the glass combo. Great job!
