Hey, the older guys here maybe you know what that funny sound I make is when I reach out over the edge of the hydraulic table and lift the drill mag, haha. I had to drill a bit slowly because the back supports were hanging over the edge of the mount. But that thing still drills a great hole.

Looks great. If we could weaponize that it would be nice. I would like to resend my vote to Washington in that.

Transfer punches are so 2008. Just kidding I center punch one hole to the lines I drew and punch a quarter-inch pilot hole using a handheld drill. Then I drill out that hole with the 3/4" bit put in a bolt and tighten well after making sure it is set perfectly. I then put a drill bushing into the pintle hook mounting hole diagonal to the first. I make sure the hook is perfectly placed and then I drill the pilot hole, and then the 3/4" hole and put in a bolt and tighten well. Then I drop in the drill bushing in the rest of the holes and drill the pilot holes. Then I just go around and hit them with the 3/4"bit. I don't even take the paint off the mounting holes in the pintle hook. But I do need some punches.
Sincerely,
William McCormick

Heres MY 2008. I’d do a very carful layout. Prick punch then center punch hole locations. Drill carefully.
Realize I’m not as careful as I thought. REdrill holes oversized to fit.....LOL

I can see your point it looks like when I am setting the drill mag to start the 3/4" drill that it wobbles around but that is actually just the drill mag being on a slight angle. I am actually very practiced at finding the center of that pilot hole, I could do it in the dark by touch alone now. It just looks wild but it is actually a rather productive method. I used to make flitch plates and I can drill out a flitch plate 18 feet long 16 inches wide in less than fifteen minutes, wood included which I drill in one shot with the metal. I like to set the drill mag while it is still turning a bit.

William McCormick

Here is the drill bushing I used. Sometimes if I am lazy and do not wish to turn an exact fit I put a layer or two of electrical tape around the bushing. It actually has advantages.

Bill, I had visions of that Jacobs chuck grinding the casting as you drilled that thing But, you got 'er ok I sometimes spot a hole like that if it has to be just right.

Wrong flux.
I saw a guy resurfacing rotors with an angle grinder once. If you don't mind the noise you can then turn those pads around for a fresh surface.

I did that once, I had just put new rotors and pads on my '99 F350 and one rear pad shucked it's lining, Got a new set of pads and smoothed the rotor with a 9" angle grinder so I could keep going until the new rotor showed on the following Monday, by Monday the one I ground was nice and smooth. But the free rotor and pads from **** Auto parts were on the truck as soon as they showed.

No, this was a semi permanent repair, not even the first time he had done it.

Nice!!! I have to worst luck with fixing those kinds of leaks.... it seems like no matter how clean you get it the oil creeps out of the crack just as you try to weld over it I'm thinking next time im gonna put a vacuum on the cylinder to keep it from 'pushing ' oil out....

I just have the operator move the piston to the other end of the cylinder and remove the line/lines running to the work side. You can see the oil start pushing out of the fittings as the work warms up. A little vacuum might not hurt either though. I’ve had pretty good luck this way so far.

I mean the carb cleaner
hopefully this will pull the solvent through the crack and flush out the oil.... maybe
We aren’t supposed to use brake cleaner nobody ever told me this
