The ladder to the cab and unloading auger look like you're running a 4420. Is that correct? That was the first combine I ran (not including pull-types). I always enjoyed working with that machine - belts and chains running all over.

I don't know what it gets for mpgs either but if I had to guess I'd say probably around 3-5 MPGs. I mean it's a 14L engine.

Built a new clamp for holding vertical and overhead weld coupons.

And here's the whole demo stand

    Forgot to add

    I used a dynasty 200dx 135A with a 3/32 1.5% lanthanated tungsten. No gas lens yet. Filler is 1/8 308L

What was your amperage? Tungsten size? Cup size? Just prodding for info to give pointers. Not bad for an hour of torch time.

It's been a while since I've run on .100 material, but I think 200A might be a little high. Can you post pics of the back side?

Thats the back side, I did another run there too, you can see on the right where I had a slight blow out at the end.
I wasn't at 200 for much if any of the time, just using the pedal

Re: Show us what you welded today!

Try to set max amperage where you are running around 2/3 pedal or more at least for the majority of the weld.

Looks like you need more filler. It'll cool the puddle better and add more reinforcement.

    Keep up the good work

these are clipper racks for the barber shop. made from stainless flats drilled and countersunk for plug welding from the reverse side. hooks are scrap bolts with the thread removed and bent in a press.
